Home > Training Workshops >
We have successfully hosted many training workshops for registered childminders across the UK. Our friendly, informative workshop’s last from one hour to half a day. We have undertaken them for many Childcare Development Teams including Bexley in Kent, Leeds and Tameside in Greater Manchester.
The aim of the workshop is to provide an introduction to developing a written plan which ultimately helps children gain knowledge and understanding of the world as well as the other 5 areas of the EYFS.
The course also encourages participants to meet and share good practice in a friendly and informal way.
A typical 2 hour course content would be :
• Overview, discussion and an example of a sample festival planning sheet
• Development in teams of a festival planning sheet using resource's
• Explore different ideas on how to celebrate festivals
• In depth background and information on 4 festivals
• Feedback session on each teams festival planning sheet .
• Explanations and information sheet on definitions
• Information sheet on sources of further information and internet links
• Discussion and sheet on “Does diversity matter to children?
• Art and craft practical session relevent to the festivals covered.
By the end of the workshop, the participants will be able to complete a written plan which is a useful way of mapping out activities and experiences and then recording achievements and developments as well as being evidence to support the ‘Enjoying and achieving’ and ‘Making a positive contribution’ outcomes from the ‘Five Every Child Matters Outcomes’ as well as evidence for EYFS,Birth to Three matters and Foundation stepping stones.
